In order to take care of others, we must be able to acknowledge and know to take the time to care for ourselves and relax. this workshop will detail the importance of self-care, outline signs of burnout and teachers to engage in concrete arts-based coping skills to help promote students’ well-being and mental health.
It may surprise you to learn that expressive art exercises can be an effective tool to help children who have been bullied. these exercises combine self-expression and reflection which results in helping children relieve stress. in this workshop teachers will discover that this expressive medium helps to increase an adolescent’s and a child self-awareness. As well Expressive Art approach, as part of a normal range of teaching strategies is a way for them to express their feelings so they can develop their confidence and self-worth.
