“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” Albert Einstein.

The philosophy for special education in the UAE promotes inclusive education for special needs students and the ministry of education is applying the law 29/2006, which stand for the following vision: “School for all”.  Based on that, we aim in this training to explain that each student has a specific ability to learn: some find learning more challenging than others.  We designed the content in a way to provide teachers with tools to identify students with learning difficulties, and offer teachers some teaching methods and strategies to make the learning process easier for LD students.

Carla Chedid is a psychomotor therapist and a clinical psychologist. She worked in the field of inclusion for 10 years, and treated more than 80 children with learning disabilities. She trained teachers to detect students with learning difficulties and how to manage teaching strategies inside a challenging class.
She is a cognitive and behavioral therapist and lecturer at the Lebanese University.
She worked for the last five years as an academic consultant and was the head of the special need department.
She is a co-author of a teacher’s guide for handling students with learning difficulties. She participated as well in the publication of the Lebanese curriculum for kindergarten.
